More positive news in today’s market: the furniture industry is continuing to strengthen compared to the same time last year.  We’re seeing more  activity and larger projects this summer. Real estate bargains are being snapped up, and furnished!

According to Furniture Insights, furniture sales rebounded in May, leading into a strong summer and the upcoming furniture market. May 2012 saw new furniture orders rise 10% compared with the same month last year, and increased 17% from the preceding April.  Overall, 69% of furniture retailers and industry professionals reported an increase in sales over this period of time, according to High Point accounting and consulting firm Smith Leonard.

This is great news on the furniture front with the market about to kick into full gear this coming October.  With shipments and orders up with numerous retailers, furniture industry professionals are eager and excited to ride this wave into the fall market and continue this year’s growth.

There isn’t a better time to shop for new furniture than late summer and early fall.  With school starting and the long summer coming to a close, what better time to spruce up the house and add a few new accessories and furniture pieces into the mix.  High Point offers numerous showrooms and dealers to fit every style and need possible.
